What a media wall has to decide first
BFM Ltd. · 11 Aug 2026
A media wall looks simple until the television, the sound bar and the fireplace are all trying to occupy the same piece of wall. The order of decisions keeps it calm.
Start with the seat and the screen
The viewing height follows the sofa, not the other way around. Note where you sit, and whether the fireplace has to stay the centre of the wall. The cabinet or panel is then drawn around those two facts.
Give the cables a route
- Where the sockets are now.
- Whether a sound bar needs a shelf.
- What should be hidden, and what you still need to reach.
BFM designs and fits media walls as part of the living-room furniture. Send a photograph of the wall with your enquiry if you have one.
